Have you ever visited a country and come home raving about it? Well, the Indian government is hoping you’ll do just that and is even willing to sweeten the deal.
From now through December 31st, the Indian Ministries of External Affairs and Tourism are sponsoring an open video contest entitled “India is …”. Designed to promote their fascinating nation of over 1 billion inhabitants, the government is encouraging everyone from travelers to lifelong residents to submit their vision of what the Indian subcontinent has to offer.

Entries must be under 3 minutes in length and fall into one of the competition’s three main themes: India is Colorful, India is Creative, or India is Wherever You Are. There’s no need to worry if you’re not a professional photographer or videographer. Entries are accepted for multiple styles (India in claymation, anyone?) and the videos that meet the posted criteria will be posted online for public judging. The best video overall nets US$4000; the best clip submitted by a foreigner wins an all expenses paid trip to India.
Want to get a leg up on the competition? Don’t miss Asia 360′s EPIC India trip leaving later this month.
